FIRST SESSION – ALTERNATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION: DOMESTIC LAW AND PRACTICE      .

Adv. S. S. Dahiwal delivering the Lecture on

“Domestic ADR Laws and Practice

 

            The first speaker Adv. S.S. Dahiwal (Member, Pune District legal services authorities) shared his 30 years of experience in practicing and advocating ADR. He critically analyzed the importance of ADR in the domestic laws and the potential of the country in reducing the burden of judiciary. He focused on domestic disputes mainly as they are related to the good health of the society, and thus also discussed the psychological effect if those disputes are not settled quickly. Adv. Dahiwal also stressed about the importance o settling the industrial disputes through ADR mechanism.

 SECOND SESSION: INTERNATIONAL ADR MECHANISM

   

         Mr. Kiran Kulkarni presenting his views on

            The second session with an eminent speaker Mr. Kiran Kulkarni (Deputy Collector, Aurangabad) the topic he choose was that of the international perspective of ADR and discus the important institutions dealing in the same. The role and jurisprudence behind the establishment of UNICITRAL model and role of WTO was beautifully described by the resource person.  Not

Only the importance but also the historical perspective and the overcoming of the great

depression was also related and discussed in this session. The importance of FDI and the ADR in

 

the disputes arising out of the international transactions were also discussed by the speaker after the session was complete, he spared some time for the audience interaction
