Communication involves one’s ability to listen carefully to grasp the meaning and to respond in turn with apt words and clarity of pronunciation. Hence, the language lab has become the need of the hour in the language learning process for communication.
The state-of-the-art Language Laboratory at PES’s Modern Law College plays a vital role in assisting the students to acquire advanced levels of spoken English. The Lab aims at facilitating the learning of second language and hone the fundamental skills of English language i.e. listening and speaking skills of the students.
The Language Lab is equipped with 11 Lenovo Desktop Systems with keyboard, mouse and headphones with the configuration of CORE i3 processor, 8 GB RAM, 240 GB, and Hard disk. All the systems have WINDOWS 10 operating system with MS Office, McAfee Anti-Virus and Adobe Reader. ACE Digital Language software by Biyani Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has been installed in the lab which uses proven language teaching methodologies and is power-packed with an array of comprehensive study materials including elucidation of Standard English
grammar, pitch, sounds, syllable-stress, rhythm, intonation, articulation and exercises for practice.
Language lab sessions are a mandatory part of the Training schedule. The main objective of laying emphasis on learning the nuances of pronunciations, stress patterns, intonation and accent is to endow students with language proficiency as it would augment their oratorical skills and boost their confidence.
The software also acquaints the learners with the nuances of Standard English pronunciation. The grammar and vocabulary exercises in the software strengthen the knowledge of the language. The language lab provides the students various opportunities to speak, comprehend and internalize English language like its native speakers.
ACE Digital Language Lab is a unique State of Art solution developed to improve communication at all levels of students by concentrating on basic language learning skills i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW). It helps to improve the oral as well as written skills of the student. It teaches how English can be used in day-to-day activities.
Using the lab; the student can improve their command over their language, gain confidenceand get ready for real-world challenges like facing interviews, doing presentations, expressing thoughts, etc. Digital Language Lab involves students actively participating in language learning exercises and getting more practice than otherwise possible in a traditional classroom environment. The software comes with complimentary study material for self-practice, assignments, audio, and video presentations and clippings, etc.
The software can be used as a teaching aid by providing an application of Information Communication Technology in the English language. It is a user-friendly software that can be easily operated by non-technical persons as well as non-computer savvy users. 2-3 hours of training and self-practice during our well-defined training program is sufficient for the user to start conducting the classes.
The Language Lab classes are scheduled as per the academic timetable for BA LLB, BBA LLB, LLM & LLM programs.
