Dear Student,

Modern Law College, Pune, is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, is permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, is approved by the Bar Council of India and has received 2(f) and 12(B) status under the UGC Act, 1956. I can proudly state that Modern Law College established in 2003, has in a short span of time carved a niche for itself in academic as well as co-curricular and extra-curricular performance.

Modern Law College has always believed in an all-round development of its students, teaching and non-teaching members. There are many activities in the college that promote teacher student interaction and programmes that enhance this. relationship. Some of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders, while the rest are pursuing their Ph.D. in their respective fields.

Alonq with providing a very conducive atmosphere for the all around development of the students, the college concentrates on the development of the faculty too. Various faculty development programmes are conducted in order to keep the staff up to date with the current teaching methods and the latest cutting edqe technologies. Chalk-less classrooms, Information Communication Technologies and digital classrooms have been installed for providing the students with the latest learning methods using latest learning techniques. The basic approach of this has. been to captivate to the mainstream the entire population of the college. For this purpose, the installation of various facilities has been carried out, along with workshops for enabling the students and the staff, towards the best use of these facilities. Subscriptions to AlR Web World and N-List facility are few of the examples of the e-resources the college is equipped with.

The College believes in the proverb, “All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy.” Hence, along with the various academic agendas, the college provides its students with a fulfilling experience focusing on all around development in terms of sports, cultural activities and an indulgence in various socio-economic activities. Extra- curricular activities and co-curricular activities, such as, NSS Camps, a self-organized Inter Collegiate Street Play Competition, the “Daff Karandak”, a National Level Moot Court Competition, are a few examples that show the muli-aceted approach of Modern Law College towards development of all its stakeholders.

Our institution sincerely adheres to the norms and measures of the Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994. The Principal, Dr. Mrs. Sunita Adhav, is a part of the Board of Studies at the Savitribai Phule Pune University. The college is moving at a good pace towards fulflling its qoals due to her experienced guidance and the dedicated efforts of the college’s teaching and non teaching staff.

Modern Law College boasts of an alumnus posted at various posts as Judges and eminent lawyers, and they have added further value to our institute. The interactive sessions between the alumni and the currently enrolled students proves to be beneficial for both, the students and college. Along with this, the Placement Cell, The Mooting, Oratory and Debating Club and the other committees, including the Student Council, help in providing a nurturing atmosphere in the college, because  here, a student is always engaged, and in case of any grievance, a Complaints. Redresser Committee to approach and resolve his/her problems.

Moreover, the Modern Law Research Centre, and the biannual ISSN Journal, provides a platform for the exchange of ideas between the scholars from all over the country. Thus, with the same fervour for excellence as our pioneer, we intend to spread our wings and soar high in the field of education.
